As we travel through the Arctic landscape, the route leads us across open snowfields, forested sections, and elevated viewpoints, offering a constantly changing and immersive winter environment.

An Abisko Snowshoe Hike also gives you the exciting possibility of encountering wildlife. While sightings can never be guaranteed, we regularly come across tracks left by moose, Arctic hare, ptarmigan, fox, and other local species. With a bit of luck, you may even glimpse one of these animals moving quietly through the forest. Your guide will help interpret the tracks and share stories about how wildlife survives the harsh polar winter.

The trip starts at 14:00 and we will return at around 16:00. The trip includes warm clothing and hot beverages. Please be at our starting point 15 minutes before the scheduled starting time. The trip starts at the small red-and-white building located at Karvens väg 18 in Abisko Östra. You will see an Activities In Abisko sign just outside of the building. It is a 10 minute walk from Abisko.net and the Abisko Mountain Lodge and about a five-minute walk from the Abisko Guesthouse.

Please be at our starting point 15 minutes before the scheduled starting time.

Guests staying at STF Abisko Tourist Station will be picked up for no extra charge, 30 minutes before the scheduled starting time.
Guests staying at Abisko Mountain Lodge and Abisko.net Hostel and Huskies can choose to be picked up from the Abisko Mountain Lodge parking lot, 20 minutes before the scheduled starting time.

Please note!

Ensure you come well-prepared with appropriate footwear; we strongly recommend waterproof shoes to keep your feet dry and comfortable during the hike. Proper footwear not only enhances your experience but also ensures you can fully immerse yourself in the beauty of the Arctic wilderness without worrying about wet feet.
